This year for our annual Spring Cope event, Dr. John Weiter and Dr. Namrata Nandakumar’s topics of discussion were focused on neuro-ophthalmology. The information packed presentation was geared to review neurological eye emergencies that require prompt diagnosis in order to save a patient’s vision and their life. The visual pathway from the optic nerve to the brain was reviewed in detail. The doctors used case-based examples to review clinical clues and imaging to localize the lesion along the visual pathways. This enhanced the understanding of the various diseases for our attendees, and provided high-yield practical clinical pearls to make timely and accurate diagnoses.
Here, at Retina Consultants of Boston, we thoroughly enjoy providing our attendees with interesting topics using case-based examples. This year we had a full house, thanks to our local optometric attendees. We thank you all for continuing to attend our Cope events year after year. We look forward to sharing our next lecture with our returning attendees as well as some new faces this upcoming Fall 2019!
In the interest of maintaining further transparency and providing a wide breadth of information to our patients and providers, this blog will serve as an educational and informative resource on interesting happenings within Retina Consultants of Boston and in the greater field of Ophthalmology.
